“DATE ROLL” IS IN:

DATE ROLL 
3 cups sugar
1 cup milk
1/2 lb. dates, chopped
1 tbsp. butter
1 cup nuts, chopped

Cook sugar and milk until a drop forms soft ball in water (234-240°F on candy thermometer).

Add dates; cook 15-20 minutes. Remove from heat; add butter and nuts. Roll up in a damp cloth; cut when cold.

Cooks Note: Use of a candy thermometer is recommended.
