DARK BUNS 
2 c. boiling water
4 tbsp. shortening
2 c. quick oatmeal
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. molasses
1 tsp. salt
3 eggs
1 bar yeast or 2 env. dry yeast
1/3 c. warm water
Flour

Dissolve shortening in 2 cups boiling water. Add oatmeal and let stand a few minutes. Add brown sugar, molasses and salt. Add 3 eggs and yeast dissolved in warm water. Mix; then add enough flour to make a soft dough. Knead and let rise twice. Make into buns and let rise until double in size. Bake at 375 degrees for 20 minutes.
