FOUR HOUR BUNS 
1 cake or pkg. quick acting yeast
1/4 c. warm water
1/2 tsp. sugar
3 tbsp. sugar
3 tbsp. shortening
1 tsp. salt
1 c. scalded milk
1 c. warm water
3 c. flour

Mix yeast, warm water, and sugar; set aside. Mix sugar, shortening, and salt; add milk and water; cool to lukewarm. Combine with yeast. Add enough flour to make a sponge. Let rise in warm place. Knead down once. Bake at 400 degrees.
