FRESH PEAR & FRUIT CAKE 
1 1/2 c. vegetable oil
3 eggs
2 c. sugar
2 tsp. vanilla
3 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. salt
3 c. diced pears
2 c. candied fruit cake mix
1 1/2 c. chopped dates
1/2 c. raisins
1 c. chopped nuts

Beat together oil, eggs, sugar and vanilla. Sift together flour, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt. Add this to first mixture, then add diced pears. Fold in fruit cake mix, dates, raisins and nuts. Bake in greased and floured tube or Bundt pan.

Bake at 270°F for 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Test with straw. Cool in pan before turning out. Dust with powdered sugar.
