CARAWAY SOUP 
3 tbsp. drippings, butter
1/2 c. chopped onion
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. caraway seeds
3 c. boiling water
3 tbsp. flour

Melt drippings or butter in a heavy saucepan. Add chopped onion and cook over low heat until lightly golden. Add salt, flour and caraway seeds to taste. Blend and cook 1 minute. Add water and cook, stirring constantly, until mixture is slightly thickened. Serve at once with buttered croutons. Makes 4-5 servings.
