SQUASH DOUGHNUTS 
1 1/4 c. sugar
4 tbsp. melted butter
1 c. squash
2 lg. eggs
1/2 c. buttermilk
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cream tartar
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. cinnamon
3 1/2 to 4 c. flour, enough to roll out

Mix sugar, butter, squash and eggs and beat well. Add buttermilk. Sift together; flour, soda, cream tartar, salt, baking powder, cloves and cinnamon. Roll out 1/2 inch thick. Fry in hot lard 380 degrees.
