BANANA DOUGHNUTS 
2 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 c. sugar
1/8 c. shortening
2 sm. eggs, beaten
3/4 tsp. vanilla
2/3 c. ripe bananas, mashed (not blended)
1/4 c. milk
Flour for rolling

Sift all dry ingredients except sugar together. Cream shortening. Add eggs and beat. Combine vanilla, bananas and milk and beat. Put everything together and roll out. Cut into doughnuts and fry in deep oil at 375 degrees or until golden brown.
