“RICH WAFFLES” IS IN:

RICH WAFFLES 
3 eggs
1 1/2 cups buttermilk
1 3/4 cups flour
2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup shortening

Beat eggs well. Beat in remaining ingredients with a rotary until. Bake about 5 minutes or until iron is no longer steaming.

NOTE: If using self-rising flour, omit baking powder and salt. To substitute milk for buttermilk, separate eggs, beating egg whites until stiff; increase baking powder to 4 teaspoons, omit soda, and fold the egg whites gently into batter. Bake as above.
