CARAMEL BREAD PUDDING | |
2 tbsp. butter 1 c. light brown sugar, packed 6 slices white bread, cut in 1/2 inch cubes 6 eggs 1/2 c. light brown sugar, packed 2 c. milk 1/8 tsp. salt 1 tsp. vanilla 1/2 c. chopped raisins Grease inside of top of double boiler with butter. Place 1 cup brown sugar in bottom. Add layer of bread cubes. Do not stir. Beat eggs until frothy. Beat in 1/2 cup brown sugar, milk, salt, vanilla, and raisins. Pour over bread cubes. Do not stir. Cover. Cook 1/2 hour over simmering water. Serve warm. Serves 6. This dish may be prepared ahead, refrigerated, and baked later. |
