CINNAMON PEARS 
1 lg. can pear halves
1 c. sugar
1/4 c. vinegar
1 stick cinnamon
Red food coloring
Mayonnaise or Miracle Whip
Grated cheddar cheese

Drain juice off pears into pan. Add sugar, vinegar, and cinnamon stick. Boil mixture for 3 minutes. Remove from stove and add 3 or 4 drops red food coloring. Pour hot mixture over drained pears. Chill in refrigerator for 24 hours.

To Serve: Line salad plate with a leaf of lettuce, place drained pear on top. Put a dollop of mayonnaise on pear and sprinkle with grated cheese.
