RUBY'S CHOCOLATE POUND CAKE 
3 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening
2 sticks butter
5 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
3 c. flour
1/2 c. cocoa
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 c. milk

Cream butter, shortening and sugar. Add eggs 1 at a time. Sift dry ingredients together. Alternate milk and dry ingredients (beating into egg and batter mixture) beginning and ending with flour. Bake at 325 to 350 degrees for 1 hour. Test for doneness. Makes one 10 inch cake.
