APRICOT DREAM BAR 
1 pkg. (11 oz.) dried apricots
3 c. water
2 3/4 c. sugar
2 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
3/4 c. butter
1/2 c. chopped pecans
1 1/2 c. flaked coconut

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine in saucepan 1 package dried apricots and 3 cups water. Cook over medium heat 30 minutes. Add 1 3/4 cups sugar and stir over heat 5 minutes. Set aside to cool.

Cream together 3/4 cup butter and 1 cup sugar. Gradually add 2 cups flour, 1/2 teaspoon baking soda, 1 teaspoon salt, 1/2 cup chopped nuts and 1 1/2 cups coconut. Mix thoroughly. Press 3/4 of batter into greased 13 x 9 inch pan. Cover with apricot mixture. Sprinkle remaining 1/4 batter over apricots. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until done. Cool and cut in bars.
