JAM CAKE 
1 box yellow cake mix
3 whole eggs
1 c. buttermilk, mixed with 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 c. blackberry jam
1 tsp. each cinnamon, allspice, ground cloves, and nutmeg
1/2 c. butter

If batter is too thin, add flour to make it right consistency for cake batter. Pour into greased and floured cake pans. Makes 3 layers. Let cool in pans 10 minutes before turning out of pan. Bake at 350 degrees for about 30 minutes.

CARAMEL ICING:

1/2 c. butter
1 c. brown sugar
1/4 c. milk
1 tbsp. vanilla
2 1/4 c. powdered sugar
1/4 tsp. salt

Melt butter; add brown sugar and milk. Heat to boiling. Add other ingredients and beat to spreading consistency.
