APPLE SOUR CREAM COFFEE CAKE | |
1/2 c. chopped walnuts 2 tsp. cinnamon 1/2 c. sugar 1/2 c. butter 2 eggs 1 tsp. vanilla 2 c. sifted flour 1 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. salt 1 tsp. baking soda 1 c. sour cream 1 med. cooking apple 1 c. sugar Mix nuts, cinnamon and 1/2 cup sugar; set aside. Grease 9" tube pan with removable bottom. Set oven to 375 degrees. Cream butter and add 1 cup sugar gradually. When mixture is fluffy, add eggs, one at a time. Add vanilla, beating until well blended. Sift flour, baking powder, salt and soda, then at low speed, beat this into batter, alternately with sour cream. Spread half of batter into pan, top with pared, thinly sliced apple, then top with 1/2 of nut mixture. Add rest of batter and top with nut mixture. Bake 40 minutes or until done. Cool on rack 30 minutes. Remove from pan. Use knife to remove from edge of pan before removing. |
