1/4 c. maple syrup
3/4 c. chopped walnuts
2 1/2 - 2 3/4 c. flour
1 pkg. active dry yeast
1 c. sugar
3/4 tsp. salt
1/3 c. butter
2/3 c. warm water (110-120 degrees)

Melt 1/4 cup butter in saucepan. Add brown sugar and 1/4 cup maple syrup. Heat until sugar is dissolved. Pour into pan and sprinkle with 1/2 cup walnuts. In mixing bowl, stir together 3/4 cup flour, yeast, sugar, and salt. Add 1/3 cup butter and warm water. Beat 2 minutes at medium speed. Add eggs and 1/4 cup flour. Beat at high speed for 2 minutes. Stir in enough flour to make a soft dough. Turn onto lightly floured board and knead for 10 minutes or until dough is smooth. Roll dough into a 14 x 9 inch rectangle. Spread lightly with maple syrup and sprinkle with remaining nuts.

Roll up into 9 inch roll. Pinch seam to seal. Cut into 9 (1 inch) slices and arrange, cut side up, in prepared pan. Cover lightly with plastic wrap. Let rise in warm place for 1 1/4 hours or until light. Bake at 375 degrees for 20- 25 minutes or until golden brown. Let stand in pan for 10 minutes. Turn onto plate to cool.
