APPLE RING CUCUMBERS 
2 gal. big cucumbers, peeled, sliced & cored
2 c. white garden lime (pickling lime)
2 qts. water

Mix and let stand for 24 hours. Wash cucumbers with cold water, let them stand in cold water for 1 hour then drain well. Add the following: 1 tbsp. alum 1 oz. or more red food coloring and enough water to cover cucumbers

Cook 2 hours on low heat. Do not boil. Drain. Mix together the following: 2 c. vinegar 10 c. sugar Lg. pkg. candy cinnamon 8 cinnamon sticks

Bring to a boil and pour over cucumbers. (After it has cooled.) Let stand for 24 hours. Pour off liquids and heat again, pour over cucumbers. Repeat this for 3 days. On the 4th day heat the mixture and cucumbers together and seal.
