Scratch Chocolate Brownies

These turned out great. I used oil and instead of 1 tsp vanilla, I used 1/2 tsp vanilla and 1/2 tsp almond extract. I added 1/2 a bag of semi-sweet chocolate chips, also. They're wonderful!

Very nice recipe. I use something similar to this, but I don't beat the eggs much. I find the less you beat them, the moister the brownies. I also make a simple thin ganache for topping which I cool in the fridge, but I also add a 1/4 cup of the ganache to the mixed ingredients before baking.
Try it!

For the chocolate ganache, warm a cup of heavy whipping cream in a small sauce pan, adding morsels of your choosing into a thin, smooth consistency (about 1/2 to 3/4 cup). Chill before pouring on the brownies and let them sit together until it sets.

I wanted to make home made brownies so I tried these. They were amazing!! I used butter and didn't add any nuts. No one could what for them to cool. They were really quick and easy to make. I'm so going to be making them again. The one thing is that when everything was mixed it was like a paste but it came out like normal brownies after it was baked. My little sister wants to try them with chocolate chips next time.

This is a great recipe!!! After reading the different comments, I prepared it as indicated (with butter) and added just an additional tbsp of cocoa. They are moist and delicious.

I was looking for a recipe on how to make brownies from scratch for a school assignment. When I found this recipe and read through the comments, I decided I had to make these! They tasted wonderful. And they did stay moist and chocolate-y :) I think the class will enjoy these brownies, I know I did, and my mom did too. They didn't last more than three days, so I'll be making them again soon. Quick and easy recipe. Yay brownies! :D

LOVE this recipe! We've used it several times now and it always turns out wonderfully! I prefer using oil over butter - seems to give a richer/moist brownie. And we use 1 cup chocolate chips instead of the nuts - Yummy! We no longer buy any stinkin' box mix. This blows them all away : )

Very nice recipe! I prefer oil over butter, and I added 3/4 c. chopped Reese's peanut butter cups to the recipe and another 1/4 c. on top of the brownies, 10 minutes before they were done. A box mix can't beat this :)

Great easy recipe. I'll never buy a brownie mix again. Try switching peppermint extract with the vanilla extract. Unbelievable.

This recipe was EASY! I am not a baker but this recipe was taylor-made for me, I think. Like a previous reviewer, we have nut (and milk) allergies in the family so I just omitted the nuts. Normally I don't tamper with recipes the first time I use it but it worked out fine.
