OLD FASHIONED CORNSTARCH PUDDING | |
3/4 c. sugar 3 tbsp. cornstarch Salt to taste Juice & rind of 1 lemon Sm. amount water 1 pt. boiling water 2 egg whites, well beaten Mix sugar, cornstarch, salt, juice and rind of lemon and small amount of water. Add boiling water and stir constantly until it thickens. Fold in well beaten egg whites. Serve with the following sauce. Mix together thoroughly 1/2 cup sugar, 1 1/2 cups milk, 1 teaspoon vanilla and the well beaten yolks of 2 eggs. Put in double boiler and stir constantly until a soft custard forms. Pour over pudding when served. |
