PERFECT CORNBREAD 
1 c. sifted all purpose flour
1/4 c. sugar
4 tsp. baking powder
3/4 tsp. salt
1 c. yellow corn meal
2 eggs
1 c. milk
1/4 c. shortening

Sift flour, sugar, powder, and salt. Stir in meal. Add eggs and milk and shortening. Bake in a 9 x 9 x 2 pan at 425 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes.
