HERMITS SUGAR FREE 
1/2 c. raisins
1/4 c. nuts, chopped
2 c. flour
1/2 c. butter
4 tsp. brown sugar substitute
1/4 tsp. salt
1 egg, well beaten
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. cloves
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 c. milk

Cream butter and sugar substitute. Add salt and egg. Beat well. Stir in flour sifted with soda and spices. Beat well alternating with the milk. Stir in fruit and nuts. Spread in greased 7 x 14 baking pan. Bake 15 minutes at 350 degrees. Cut in squares while warm. Makes 25 to 30.
