CANDY CANE COOKIES 
1/2 c. butter (soft)
1/2 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1 egg
1 1/2 tsp. almond extract
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. red food color

Mix butter, shortening, sugar, egg and flavorings. Blend in flour and salt. Divide dough in half, blend food color into half. Place on ungreased baking sheet, until lightly brown. Roll out small parts of cookie dough into a line (white and red dough) then curve like a candy cane.
