1 lb. lean ground beef
1 clove garlic (1 tsp.)
1 chopped onion
1 (2/3 c.) green pepper
4 tbsp. chili powder
1 tbsp. cider vinegar
1/4 tsp. coriander
1/4 tsp. allspice
1 tsp. cumin
1/2 tsp. salt
2 c. crushed tomatoes
2 c. beans, water to cover
1/2 c. water
1 tbsp. masa (corn flour) at end to thicken

Cook the first four ingredients over medium high heat until beef is brown and onion is soft. Add the rest of the ingredients to meat mixture and bring to a boil. Cover, reduce heat, simmer 45 minutes. Add masa.
