Chicken and Dumplings 
Chicken, boiled and deboned
2 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1/2 c. shortening
1/2 - 1 c. ice water
broth from chicken
2 c. milk
1/2 c. butter
salt and pepper to taste

Blend flour, salt and shortening until mixture resembles corn meal. Slowly add cold water until it makes dough. Roll dough out and cut into squares. In large pot; add milk, butter, salt and pepper to broth. Bring to a slow boil. Lower heat and simmer. Add dough one at a time, don't stir, and push down with a spoon. Add chicken slowly and cook for 15 minutes.
