HANNAH'S TOFFEE COOKIES | |
1 c. sweet butter, softened 1 c. firmly packed dark brown sugar 1 egg, separated 2 c. all purpose flour 1/2 tsp. salt 1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon 1/3 - 1/2 c. chopped walnuts or pecans 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. 2. Cream butter and sugar until fluffy; beat in egg yolk. 3. Mix flour, salt and cinnamon; beat into butter mixture. 4. Pat thinly into ungreased 15 1/4" x 10 1/4" baking pan. Lightly beat egg white and brush over batter. Sprinkle with nuts. 5. Bake 25 minutes or until firm to the touch. 6. Cut into squares while still warm. Makes 4 to 5 dozen. |
