CRANBERRY APPLE PIE 
4 med. apples, peeled & sliced
1/2 c. water
1 3/4 c. sugar
2 tbsp. cornstarch
1/4 tsp. salt
2 1/2 c. cranberries
2 tbsp. grated orange peel
3 tbsp. butter
2 9" pastry pie crust

Combine apples and water in large saucepan; cook over medium heat 5-8 minutes until slightly soft. Combine sugar, cornstarch and salt in small bowl; blend into simmering apples. Add berries, peel and butter. Cook uncovered until berries start to burst (5 minutes). Cool. Spoon into bottom pastry and add top pastry. Bake at 425 degrees for 20 minutes. Then 350 degrees for 25 minutes.
