APPLE - CRANBERRY PIE 
2 c. flour, sifted
2/3 c. shortening
5-7 tbsp. water

Cut shortening into flour, using few strokes, until resembles coarse crumbs. Add water 1-2 tablespoons at a time, mixing with fork until just holds together. Roll 1/2 dough out onto flour surface. Set into bottom of pie pan. Trim leaving 1/2 inch edge. Reserve 1/2 dough for top. After filling, place on top, trim, roll 2 crusts under together on edges crimp. Cut small air pockets.

FILLING:

6-8 apples, peeled & sliced into sm. pieces
1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 lg. can whole cranberry sauce

May add more sugar to taste for a sweeter, less tart pie.

Mix together all ingredients. Pour into pie shell. Follow top crust directions. Bake until juice flow from pie and crust is nicely browned (350 degrees, at least 1 hour).
