FUNNEL CAKE 
1 1/2 c. flour
1 1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
2 tbsp. sugar
3/4 tbsp. baking powder
1 egg, beaten
2/3 c. milk (more if batter is too thick)

Sift together flour, salt, baking soda, sugar and baking powder. Mix egg and milk together; add to dry ingredients. Beat until smooth. Pour batter into a funnel; hold finger over bottom of funnel. Pour in, letting batter drop in circular motion in pan filled with 1-inch hot oil (375 degrees). Turn once; fry until golden brown. Drain on paper towel. Sprinkle with powdered sugar. Serve hot.
