SOUR DOUGH CHOCOLATE CAKE | |
1/2 c. thick starter 1 c. warm water 1/4 c. skim milk 1 1/2 c. flour Mix these ingredients together and let them set in warm place until the mixture smells yeasty and a little like sour milk. This will take 2-3 hours. Then cream together: 1/2 c. warm water 1/2 tsp. salt 1 1/2 tsp. baking soda 1 tbsp. vanilla 1 tbsp. cinnamon One at a time, add 2 eggs after each addition. Then stir in 3 squares melted unsweetened chocolate. Add this creamed mixture to the sour dough mixture and stir 300 strokes, or mix for 1 minute on low with electric beater. Pour into 2 layer pans or an angel food (tube) pan and bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes, 50-60 minutes for tube pan, being careful to make sure the cake is done before removing if from oven. |
