FUNNEL CAKE | |
1 1/3 c. flour 1/4 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. baking soda 2 tbsp. sugar 3/4 tbsp. baking powder 1 egg, beaten 2/3 c. milk or more if batter is too thick Sift together dry ingredients in a separate bowl. Mix egg and milk; add to dry ingredients and beat until smooth. Hold finger over bottom of a funnel. (I use a measuring cup). Pour in some batter. Remove finger and let batter drop in a spiral motion into pan filled with 1 inch of hot oil (375 degrees); fry until golden brown, turning over once. Remove from pan and drain on a paper towel. Sprinkle with powdered sugar. Serve hot! |
