QUICK AND EASY BUTTERMILK CINNAMON ROLLS | |
2 pkgs. yeast 1/4 c. warm water 3 tbsp. sugar 2 c. buttermilk 1 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. baking soda 1/2 c. oil 4 1/2 c. flour SPREAD MIXTURE: 1 c. soft butter 1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon 1 1/4 c. brown sugar Raisins, nuts optional Step 1: Dissolve yeast in warm water (let stand). Heat buttermilk slowly to warm. Add sugar, salt and baking soda. Add buttermilk mixture and yeast mixture together in large mixing bowl. Add oil and flour. Mix. Knead 15 times. Cover to rise for 15 minutes. Step 2: Roll dough into a rectangle about 1/2 inch thick and spread with the spread mixture of butter, cinnamon, sugar. Sprinkle with raisins and or nuts. Roll like a jelly roll, cut and place in 13x9 inch pan in which 2 tbsp. butter and 1/2 cup brown sugar have been melted together. Let rise 30 minutes. Bake in a preheated 400°F oven for 25 minutes and enjoy! |
