THE VERY BEST PICKLES 
1 gal. cucumbers, cut lengthwise
2 peppers
8 onions
1/2 c. salt

Soak cucumbers in real cold water, put ice into the water, for 3 hours.

5 c. vinegar
2 tsp. cloves
2 tsp. tumeric, powder
5 c. sugar
2 tsp. mustard seed

Pour over pickles in jars and let stand until cool. Process in hot water bath for 5 minutes. Seal.
