CHICKEN A LA CHARDON 
3 boned chicken breasts
1 egg
Salt and pepper to taste
2 tsp. garlic powder
1 c. Italian bread crumbs
1/2 c. Parmesan cheese
1/2 lb. butter
1 tsp. finely chopped parsley
1/2 lb. mushrooms, sliced

Beat egg with salt and pepper and garlic powder. Combine bread crumbs, garlic powder and Parmesan cheese. Dip each chicken piece in egg mixture then roll in crumb mixture. Arrange chicken pieces in single layer in large shallow baking dish.

Melt butter in small saucepan. Stir in remaining 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder, parsley and lemon juice. Pour half of butter sauce over chicken. Bake at 375 degrees for 25 minutes.

Remove from oven, sprinkle with mushrooms and pour remaining butter sauce over chicken. Return to oven and bake 10 minutes.
