MANDARIN ORANGE SALAD 
2 tbsp. white sugar
1/4 c. slivered almonds
2 tbsp. butter

Melt in microwave or over stove.

SALAD:

1/2 head lettuce or spinach
1/2 sliced onion
1 can Mandarin oranges, drained
1/4 c. candied almonds

Layer over lettuce.

DRESSING:

1/2 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. sugar
1 tbsp. parsley flakes OR 1 tbsp. poppy seeds
2 tbsp. vinegar
1/4 c. salad oil

Shake together. Pour dressing over right before serving.

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.
