CARAMEL LAYER CHOCOLATE SQUARES 
14 oz. bag Kraft caramels
2/3 c. evaporated milk
1 pkg. German chocolate cake mix
1 stick butter
1 c. chopped nuts
1 (6 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour 13 x 9 pan. Melt caramels with 1/3 cup of the milk in microwave about 5 minutes or in double-boiler. Set aside.

Combine cake mix, butter, 1/3 cup milk, and nuts. Stir by hand. Press half of the mixture into pan and bake 6 minutes. Take out of oven and sprinkle with chocolate chips. Next, drizzle caramel mixture over chips.

Crumble the rest of the dough over the caramel mixture. Bake 15 minutes. Cool 15 minutes. Refrigerate 30 minutes.

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.
