SOFT PRETZELS 
1 cake or 1 pkg. dry yeast
1 1/2 c. lukewarm water
4 1/2 c. flour (all-purpose flour)

Dissolve yeast in water. Add flour. Let stand (raise) 1 hour. Divide in half then divide each half into 9 pieces. Roll out each piece into "ropes", making 18 pretzels. Let raise 1/2 hour. Dip each pretzel into solution of 1 quart hot water and 2 tablespoons of baking soda.
