SWISS CHEESE & ONION CANAPES 
1 lb. grated Swiss cheese
1 med. size Spanish onion (purple, chopped
Salt & pepper to taste
Party size rye bread slices
1 c. softened butter

Blend together cheese and butter until it is fully blended. Add chopped onion. Spread on party size rye bread slices. Place under broiler just long enough to melt cheese. Serve hot. (The mixture on spread slices can be frozen.)
