ANISE COOKIES 
SINGLE BATCH:

1 c. Crisco
1 c. sugar

Cream together. Add the remaining ingredients: 1/2 c. milk 3/4 tbsp. baking powder 3/4 tbsp. vanilla 3 c. flour 1/2 box or jar anise seed or 1/4 tsp. flavoring of your choice

DOUBLE BATCH:

2 c. Crisco
2 c. sugar

Cream together. Add the remaining ingredients: 1 c. milk 1 1/2 tbsp. baking powder 1 1/2 tbsp. vanilla 6 c. flour 1 box or jar anise seed or 1/2 tsp. flavoring of your choice

Mix together and let stand 6 hours or overnight and roll and cut with cookie cutters. Bake at 350 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes and frost.
