SWEET AND SOUR SAUCE 
3/4 c. sugar
2 tbsp. soy sauce
1 tbsp. dry white wine
3 tbsp. wine vinegar
3 tbsp. catsup
2 tbsp. cornstarch
1/2 c. water

Combine sugar, soy sauce, wine, vinegar and catsup in a saucepan and bring to a boil. Dissolve cornstarch in water and add to sauce. Cook over low heat, stirring, until sauce has thickened. Make about 1 1/2 cups.
