PRESSURE COOKING DRIED BEANS | |
1 c. washed beans (pea beans, Great Northern, black, etc.) 2 c. water 3/4 tsp. salt Bay leaf (For 3 cups cooked beans) Bring washed beans and water to boil in a pressure cooker pan, uncovered. Let them boil rapidly for 2 minutes, cover pan and st aside for 1 hour. Add salt and bay leaf to pan. Lock on pressure cooker cover, bring to 15 lbs. pressure and cook for 2 minutes (3 minutes for large beans). Let pressure go down by itself (20 minutes) and uncover pan. Beans are ready to use in any recipe or may be refrigerated until needed. |
