SNICKERDOODLES (SNICKER DOOD
LES)
 
Mix together thoroughly:

1 c. soft shortening
1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs

Sift together:

2 3/4 c. flour
2 tsp. cream of tarter
1 tsp. baking soda

Chill dough. Roll into balls size of walnut. Roll top in mixture of 2 tablespoons sugar and 2 teaspoons cinnamon. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 400 degrees until lightly brown 8 to 10 minutes.
