PECAN PIE SURPRISE BARS 
1 pkg. yellow cake mix
1/2 c. butter, melted
1 egg
1 c. chopped pecans
1/2 c. packed brown sugar
1 1/2 c. dark corn syrup
1 tsp. vanilla
3 eggs

Reserve 2/3 cup of dry cake mix for filling. Into the remaining mix butter and 1 egg until crumbly. Press into greased 9 x 13 inch pan. Bake 15 minutes at 350 degrees.

Combine reserved cake mix, brown sugar, corn syrup, vanilla and 3 eggs. Beat on high speed 1-2 minutes. Pour over partially baked crust. Sprinkle with chopped pecans. Return to oven and bake 30-35 minutes longer, until filling sets. Cool. Cut into squares.
