CHEWY CHOCOLATE CARAMEL BARS 
14 oz. bag caramels (about 50 pieces)
5 oz. can evaporated milk
18 1/2 oz. German chocolate cake mix
1 c. chopped nuts (peanuts are great)
1 c. chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease 9 x 13 inch pan. Melt caramels and 1/3 cup of evaporated milk in top of double boiler. Mix cake mix, melted butter and the other 1/3 cup milk.

Spread half of cake mixture on bottom of greased pan. Bake 6 minutes and remove from oven. Sprinkle nuts and chocolate chips. Spread caramel mixture. Spread remaining cake mix. Bake 15-18 minutes. Remove from oven and let cool before cutting. Expensive and time consuming, but well worth it!

If using cake mix with pudding, bake 3-5 minutes longer.
