WHITE FROSTING
1 c. milk
4 tbsp. flour
1/2 c. Crisco
1/2 c. butter
1 c. granulated sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla

Combine cup milk and flour and cook over low flame until consistency of paste (very thick). Stir constantly to keep smooth. Remove from heat and cool.

When mixture has cooled, blend 1/2 cup Crisco, 1/2 cup butter, 1 cup granulated sugar, and beat until fluffy. Add milk and flour mixture. Beat at high speed. Mixture will become very light and fluffy. Add 1/2 teaspoon vanilla.

You can add coconut, pecans, or whatever you desire to the frosting. Makes a very light and not too sweet icing for any type of cake.
