HOMEMADE CHOCOLATE PIE 
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. flour
1/3 c. cocoa
3 egg yolks (reserve egg whites)
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. milk

Combine sugar, flour, salt and cocoa in a saucepan and mix. Add 1/2 cup milk and egg yolks and beat. Pour in remaining milk. Mix and heat on a low heat until thick. Add vanilla and mix. Pour into baked pie shell. Top with Meringue.

MERINGUE:

Beat egg whites until fluffy. Add 1/2 cup sugar gradually. Beat until it forms a peak. Spread over pie and cool.

When heating over low heat...takes forever, turn heat to med for a few minutes while stiring softly but steady for best result.

I agree with Scottie. If you mix it on low it takes very long to thicken. But if you turn it up a bit then it will soon thicken. I then turn it back down and continued to mix. I used a whisk the whole time. My aunt gave me a recipe that has more ingredients, but I will see how it will taste!

Place in microwave... Takes about 9 minutes. Will not burn, just stir about every 2 minutes..
