TAMALE PIE 
1 lb. hamburger
1 (16 oz.) can stewed tomatoes
1 tbsp. chili powder
1 sm. pkg. frozen corn
1 tsp. salt
1/2 can water
1/2 - 1 c. Cheddar cheese, grated

CRUST:

3/4 c. cornmeal
1/2 c. milk
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 egg, beaten

Heat oven to 425 degrees.

Fry hamburger, then add stewed tomatoes, 1 tablespoon chili powder, frozen corn, 1 teaspoon salt, 1/2 can water. Break up tomatoes with spoon. Let mixture bubble while you mix up the crust.

Crust: Mix in small bowl 3/4 cup cornmeal, 1/2 cup milk, 1/2 teaspoon baking powder, 1 egg, beaten.

Pour hamburger mixture into 1 1/2 - 2 quart casserole dish. Sprinkle 1/2 - 1 cup grated Cheddar cheese on top. Spread cornmeal mixture on top and spread to edge.

Bake at 425 degrees for 20-25 minutes. Put pan underneath for spills.
