HEARTY BEEF SOUP | |
1 lb. lean stew meat 1 1/2 tsp. salt 1 tsp. pepper 6 c. water 4 lg. carrots, peeled & sliced thin 1 lg. onion, sliced 1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen lima beans & corn 1/2 c. Heinz 57 Sauce 1 lg. can tomatoes 2 potatoes, peeled & diced Cube meat and brown in small amount of oil. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Add all ingredients except potatoes and simmer for at least an hour, longer if time permits. Add potatoes and cook for 20 minutes. Serve with crackers or home baked bread. Double this recipe and keep in refrigerator for two or three days. It makes a great "planned over". |
