CARAMEL CHEWS 
1 c. butter
2 c. sugar
1 c. light corn syrup
1 can sweetened condensed milk
2 c. broken walnuts, peanuts or pecans
1 tsp. vanilla

Melt butter and add sugar, corn syrup and sweetened condensed milk and stir continually until it boils and candy thermometer reads 240°F. Remove from heat and add the nuts and vanilla. Lightly butter a pan and pour batter into pan. Leave at room temperature 3 or 4 hours until it hardens. Wrap in wax paper. Twist ends of paper and clip ends with scissors.
