MELT IN YOUR MOUTH SUGAR COOKIES | |
1 c. butter 1 c. Crisco oil 1 c. granulated sugar 1/2 tsp. salt 1 c. powdered sugar 2 eggs, beaten 5 c. sifted flour 1 1/4 tsp. baking soda 1 1/4 tsp. cream of tartar 1 1/2 tsp. lemon extract 1 tsp. vanilla Cream sugar, salt, butter, and oil until sugar is dissolved. Add powdered sugar, and beaten eggs. Mix. Add 1 cup flour to which the cream of tartar and soda has been added, then add vanilla and lemon extract and mix well. Add rest of flour. If eggs were small, use only 4 1/2 cups of flour. Chill dough 3-4 hours or overnight in refrigerator. Roll dough in little balls. Put on ungreased cookie sheet; dip bottom of glass in sugar and press down. Bake at 350 degrees for 8-10 minutes. Watch so they don't turn brown. Use colored sugar at holidays. |
