MELT-IN-THE-MOUTH COOKIES 
3/4 c. sifted all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. soft butter
1 c. firmly packed light brown sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1/2 c. finely chopped nuts

Sift together flour, baking powder, and salt into bowl and reserve. Put butter in large bowl of electric mixer. Add brown sugar, egg, and vanilla. Beat until electric mixer until mixture is light and fluffy. Add flour mixture and blend until smooth. Stir in chopped nuts. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake in preheated 400 degree oven about 5 minutes or until brown. Cool for 1/2 minute and remove carefully to plate or wire rack. Makes about 6 or 7 dozen.
