TEA CAKE RECIPE 
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1 egg
1/2 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
dash of salt
4 to 4 1/2 c. flour

Cream together first 3 ingredients. Work rest of ingredients in gradually. Roll into small balls (if needed, add more flour to make "rolling" dough). Dip glass in a sugar and cinnamon mixture; mash cookies flat.

Bake on a greased cookie sheet at 300°F for 15 minutes.

Yield: 75 tea cakes.
